The Vortex is the 3-layer rotomolded polyethylene version of Tiderace's famous performance sea kayaks - its closest sibling is the Xtra. Its hull design is honed for maneuverability for fun days paddling in dynamic conditions such as the surf zone and surfing. Its construction is super tough to enable it to stand up to the rigors of rock gardening.
The Vortex is also expedition capable. Its waterline is long enough to enable efficiency for longer crossings. It has capacity for days of kayak camping. So you can have it both ways: Set up camp and then go play in the surf.
