A cross-linked polyethelene material will keep the boat looking newer longer, and even has memory in case you really crash hard. It will actually return to its original shape if bent with a little heat from the sun or hair dryer.
Dryness
Every screw hole in a boat leaks, right? Well, Jackson Kayak has invented a way to attach all outfitting on the inside of the boat without drilling holes through the hull, so there is not a single hole in the boat other than the cockpit. This innovative construction, combined with a well thought out cockpit rim will keep the river where it belongs - outside the boat. You can paddle all day with a good skirt/drytop combo and never have to sponge out!
